The Ironing Maidens’ workshop series offers an engaging and accessible introduction to electronic music production, designed specifically for students, emerging producers, and musicians keen to expand their creative toolkit. Whether participants are looking to enhance their live performances or delve into recording and songwriting, the workshops provide a strong foundation in Ableton Live — a powerful software used widely in the music industry. From understanding the basics to exploring creative possibilities in arrangement and sound design, the series empowers participants to bring their musical ideas to life.

Led by Patty Preece, a seasoned producer and certified Ableton Live trainer, and Melania Jack, a musician and experienced facilitator, the workshops are grounded in practical skills and creative exploration. Melania also brings her expertise in running workshops on life skills for creative humans and projection and installation basics, adding further depth to the learning experience. Workshops run by The Ironing Maidens reflects a commitment to nurturing local talent and fostering innovative approaches to music and art making.

In addition to music production, The Ironing Maidens run a dynamic community engagement program as part of their performances Hot & Heavy and Electro House Wife. These programs include inclusive dance workshops that invite participants of all ages and abilities to explore movement in a fun and supportive environment. The workshops not only teach choreography inspired by the themes of the show but also offer participants the exciting opportunity to perform live alongside The Ironing Maidens during their main stage performances. This hands-on approach to community involvement creates a sense of ownership, connection, and celebration, making the live shows a truly collaborative and empowering experience for everyone involved.
